The mayor’s office said an unnamed developer has bought the half-built skeleton of a tower on downtown’s riverfront and plans to build a hotel, entertainment venue and parking garage on the property. Even though the building is exposed with incomplete concrete and steel structures for more than a decade, developer believes structure is sound and will be developed as per the plan.
A year after an arrangement for apartments failed to work out, and 16 years after potential advancement initially surfaced, it looks as though East San Marco will before long go vertical with retail. This time, says Regency Centers, the developer, East San Marco will simpy be a 30,000 SF Publix Super Market, plus 20,000 SF of shops and restaurants. RaceTrac Petroleum, the Atlanta-based gas retailer, has paid $1.2M for a 5.5-acre site at the corner of Harlow Blvd. and 103rd Street in SW JAX. Roger Bull of The Florida Times-Union mentions the sale in his Sunday Notebook.
