New Distillary In-The-Works for Downtown Jacksonville

Manifest Distillery recently announced plans to open up shop in downtown Jacksonville, and plans to lease space in the same building that will house local and highly successful craft brewery Intuition Ale Works. The building is located at 929 E. Bay Street (Bay St. and A. Phillip Randolph Blvd.), near the stadium, baseball field, arena and fairgrounds. The distillery has announced that it will be open in Spring of 2016, and Intuition is on track for a summer of 2016 open date, according to owner/founder, Ben Davis. Having the distillery and brewery in the same building is expected to be complimentary, and potentially provide room for collaboration, as talk of barrel aged brews (using barrels from the distillery process next door to age the beer) are already being discussed. This will be the third distillery to open in Northeast Florida, with one is St. Augustine and one Fernandina Beach already.

Alexa Epitropoulos with the Jacksonville Business Journal covered the story.
