Renovations Underway at All Four Big Downtown Hotels

The four largest hotels in downtown are all undergoing extensive renovations.  When all four are doing it, experts believe there is a lot of optimism in the air – and an opportunity for new development, especially for a limited-service product for those that don’t want/need a massive hotel.  Consider:

  • The Hyatt is renovating all 963 rooms, its first since 2005; completion is expected by October
  • The Omni has just completed its renovation of all 354 rooms from floor to ceiling
  • The former Wyndham Hotel (323 rooms) was re-named The Lexington and renovations will take 18 months.
  • The Crowne Plaza (293 rooms) is undergoing extensive renovations and will be re-flagged as a DoubleTree by Hilton in early September.
