Atlanta-Based Wakefield Beasley Wins JAX Landing Re-Design Bid

An Atlanta firm, Wakefield Beasley & Associates, has won the re-design (and a “complete re-imagining”) of Jacksonville Landing downtown.  Fourteen bidders were narrowed to three and Wakefield Beasley and the fact that it had a Ponte Vedra office won the Downtown Investment Authority over.  WBA is teaming up with Pittsburgh based Urban Design Associates which has extensive work in waterfront project designs.  DIA hopes to have a design finalized 120 days after WBA’s work starts; most hope that design includes residential, office, retail, restaurants, and hospitality.  David Chapman of The JAX Daily Record has the story.
