North Florida Transportation Funding Doubled to $800M

North Florida (District 2) is set to receive a huge increase in FDOT funds starting in the new fiscal year, which begins in July. The district normally receives 10-11% of the total FDOT budget for the state, however funding has doubled to 20% (roughly $800M) of the states transportation budget. The increase is cited as being spurred by the organizational strength of the region. Jensen Werley with the Jacksonville Business Journal has the story.
