Largest Ship JaxPort’s History Docks Today

The cargo ship MOL Competence arrived in Jacksonville today, and marks the largest ship to dock at one of JAXPort’s terminals. The ship came from China and is currently docked at the TraPac terminal. The ship has a total capacity of 8,100 TEU’s (containers), however can’t dock in Jacksonville at full capacity due to the current depth of the St. Johns River. When the ship arrived, it was carrying roughly 4,000 TEU’s, about 1,100 of which were unloaded, before being re-loaded with roughly the same amount for export.
