Rayonier, the large forest-services company, that owns some 2,900 acres at the corner of I-95 and A1A in Nassau County about 20 miles north of downtown JAX, is in the initial stages of development of that tract that would forever change the gateway into Northeast Florida.  The first phase will be to bring jobs there in what it calls the employment center and construction of a public elementary school that will open in 2017.  Rayonier says it might take 70 years to build-out the project, but ultimately it might have over 7.1 MSF of commercial space and some 4,000 residential units.  Karen Brune Mathis of The JAX Daily Record has the article.
