Strong Employment Figures for First Coast’s September

The local economy continues to steam along and the unemployment rate dipped to 5.68%, lower than the state’s (6.1%) and the nation (5.9%).  Some 8,000 jobs were created in the region in September, 5,000 of which were in Duval County alone.  And it is not just “statistics” – the labor force increased, the number of employed increased, and the number unemployed fell…  Drew Dixon of The Florida Times-Union has the story.
