Publix on Buying Spree of Their Own

Publix is not only renovating many of its stores but is also continues to acquire centers where it is a tenant.  They tend to be Publix stores that outperformers and centers in advantageous locations for the grocer and it helps them control other tenants including food providers in the centers.  Lastly, it helps them spend just some of the reported $2-3 BILLION of cash in their coffers and get a decent return while they are at it.  Ashley Gurbal Kritzer from the Tampa Bay Business Journal has the story and a few recent transactions where Publix has bought centers in Clermont, Winter Park and South Florida.
