Hendricks Plaza to link Southbank and San Marco

Hendricks Plaza to link Southbank and San Marco.

Colliers International Northeast Florida sold this strip center on Hendricks Avenue to NY based Rettner Realty earlier this year. The site consists of two structures built in the late forties on about 1.31 acres in San Marco, across from LaNopelara and the Public Library. The new owners plan to invest about $300,000 in renovations to the plaza. Most of the money will be spent on the storefronts façade, including tan colors, lighting, crown molding and awnings.

This area has seen a lot of improvements lately, including San Marco Train Station, which is just north of Hendricks Plaza and will include a freestanding Panera Bread and small multitenant retail center. This project is currently under construction by Ashco, Inc. and should be finished in Q1, 2014. Aardwolf Brewery, which is across the street from San Marco Train Station has also seen great success in the area after opening mid-year. Aardwolf is located in the former Jacksonville Utilities building, which is next to the Southside Tennis Courts and Public Library.
